Barnt Green Scouts were established in 1929 and
built the original wooden Scout hut in 1932. The Scout Section is for young people,
usually aged between 10½ and 14 years.
A young person can come in to the Troop at 10 and may stay until they are 15 years old.
Scouts are encourged to take part in a wide range of activities, with the participation
being the approach rather than just meeting standards. Scouts work towards
a number of Challenge awards and Activity badges.
Outdoor activities are a key part of the Scout programme focussing on skills
such as camping, cooking and survival.
