To help young people achieve their full, physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as respected
members of their local, national and international communities. Contact our Group Scout Leader to see what roles are available at the moment. There is the Exec Committee as well as parent helpers and uniformed leaders,
it doesn't matter how much you do, whether it's leading a section, behind the scenes paperwork, running a one-off
camp or a single fundraising event, every little helps!
The Sections Scouting is open to all young people aged 6 to 18 of every
faith and background. There are three Sections in Barnt Green with Explorer units being operated at a district level:
Beaver Scouts 6 - 8 year olds Easily recognised by their distinctive
turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on
visits and helping others. They meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout
Colony in Barnt Green. Find out about Beavers Cub Scouts 8 –10 ½ year olds There are loads
of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout in Barnt Green. You will get a chance to
try lots of different activities like exploring, music, night walks and collecting. If you do them properly
you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform. The
Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and mystery visits. Sometimes you will be able to
go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor

Scouts 10
½ - 14 year olds The Scout Section is for young people,
usually aged between 10½ and 14 years. A young person can come in
to the Troop at 10 and may stay until they are 15 years old. Scouts are encourged to take part in
a wide range of activities, with the participation being the approach rather than just meeting standards.
Scouts work towards a number of Challenge awards and Activity badges.
Outdoor activities are a key part of the Scout programme focussing
on skills such as camping, cooking and survival. Find out more about Scouts
